Design & Experience
We organized the landscape into a series of connected outdoor rooms anchored by a timber pergola, stone pathways, and a centrally located outdoor kitchen. Clear circulation routes, durable materials, and practical layouts ensure the space functions smoothly for both daily living and larger gatherings.
The final design was installed by Northern Virginia Landscaping and centers around a timber pergola, stone pathways, and an outdoor kitchen, all tied together through layered planting and subtle lighting. Durable materials, intuitive layouts, and year-round interest ensure the space performs as well as it looks—creating a landscape that feels effortless, functional, and built to last.
Vision
The planting design emphasizes layered textures, seasonal interest, and visual continuity throughout the site. Ornamental grasses, flowering perennials, and evergreen structure frame key views, soften hardscape edges, and create a sense of immersion while remaining easy to maintain.
Conclusion
The completed landscape delivers a balanced blend of structure and softness, providing defined gathering spaces, intuitive movement, and long-term durability. The result is a cohesive outdoor environment that feels natural, performs reliably, and enhances how the homeowners use their property.
